From Sales Assistant to Independent Agent
Theo started his career working in a clothing store, where he frequently interacted with brand representatives. “Agents would regularly visit us, and I was fascinated by their on-the-road lifestyle. I thought, this is an exciting world to be part of,” he recalls. After a meaningful conversation with one of the agents, the ball started rolling. “We stayed in touch, and when he retired, I was given the opportunity to take over his position.”
That’s how Kip Agenturen was founded in 2011, initially representing just one brand. Today, Theo represents labels such as Eurex by Brax, Fakts, Ragman, Cavello Underwear, and the sustainable eyewear brand Parafina. “These are all strong, quality-driven brands that offer solid margins and are well aligned with current retail demands.”
A Season-Focused Showroom in a Strategic Location
Kip Agenturen recently moved into its showroom at CAST in Nieuwegein. “We were looking for a location that was strategically convenient for our clients, and CAST offered exactly what we needed,” Theo explains. “It’s centrally located, close to IJsselstein where many menswear brands are based, and we can rent the space only for the exact periods we need.”
Theo also appreciates the collaborative nature of working with CAST: “They really listened to us from the start. We could adapt everything—from the flooring and wall colors to the electrical outlets. That made us feel truly welcome.”
Brands with a Unique Story
Each brand in Theo’s portfolio brings something distinctive to the table. Eurex by Brax is known for its excellent fit and strong value for money. Fakts offers comfortable, dressy shirts with innovative stretch properties. Ragman caters to the casual segment with a broad collection and high margins. Cavello focuses on men’s underwear, and Parafina stands out with its sustainable sunglasses. “What I love about Parafina is that it’s both stylish and responsible—fashionable frames made from recycled waste.”
Physical Presence Remains Essential
Despite the rise of digital tools, Theo believes that face-to-face interaction remains essential. “The advantage of a showroom is that clients can experience the full collection. Instead of visiting them with a suitcase full of samples, they can now browse at their own pace and discover additional offerings. That not only strengthens engagement but also boosts the chance of extra sales.”
Future Plans and Collaboration
Looking ahead to the coming seasons, the plans are clear: Kip Agenturen will remain based at CAST. “The location is working really well for us, and our clients know exactly where to find us,” says Theo.
