A preview of the SS27 trends (2)

28 July 2026

For Spring/Summer 2027, alongside the continued trend towards clean, structured silhouettes, we also see a growing focus on movement and natural fluidity. The trend Following Dynamics draws inspiration from the patterns found in both nature and technology—think swarm intelligence, flowing water, frequencies and digital data visualisations. The result is a visual language that feels light, fluid and almost weightless.

The beauty of natural movement
Where previous trends focused on structure and geometry, Following Dynamics embraces organic shapes and a sense of continuous motion. Silhouettes appear as though they have formed naturally: fluid, effortless and free from rigidity.

Soft draping, loose panels, gentle pleats and casually knotted details create a relaxed aesthetic that perfectly balances elegance and comfort. Localised volume effects add depth to designs, while flowing lines and floating shapes evoke a feeling of lightness and movement.

Materials in motion
Material selection plays a key role within this trend. Ultra-lightweight, fluid fabrics form the foundation, including silk, satin, chiffon and fine knits. Transparent layers, pleated fabrics and materials with slatted or layered constructions create depth and movement, while delicate ostrich feathers and other airy embellishments add a subtle sense of flow.

Watercolour lightness
The colour palette is soft, transparent and ethereal. Think shades inspired by cloud-filled skies at sunrise and sunset: light blues, misty pastels and subtle hues that seamlessly blend into one another. To create contrast and depth, these tones are complemented by accents of deep dark brown and inky blue.
