CAST and act legal join forces as legal partners for the footwear, sports and fashion industry

27 August 2026

CAST and act legal are entering into a strategic partnership to make legal knowledge, expertise and support more accessible to suppliers in the footwear, sports and fashion industry. As part of the partnership, act legal will become CAST’s legal partner.

The partnership aims to strengthen legal knowledge within the sector and jointly address current and future legal developments affecting suppliers in the industry. These include, among other things, drafting and interpreting contracts and cooperation agreements, e-commerce and platforms, employment law, tenancy law, franchise law, restructurings, compliance, sustainability, and evolving European and Dutch laws and regulations.

Making legal knowledge more accessible to the sector
The footwear, sports and fashion industry is undergoing significant change. In addition to commercial and economic developments, the sector is facing an increasing volume of legislation and regulation as well as increasingly complex legal issues. CAST and act legal therefore see a clear need for practical and accessible legal knowledge.

As part of the partnership, CAST and act legal will share knowledge through meetings, knowledge sessions, webinars and other communication channels. They will also focus on current legal topics that are particularly relevant to the industry.

“With act legal, we are bringing legal expertise closer to our members and the industry. Legal issues affect virtually every business, while the need for specialist knowledge and practical support continues to grow. By working together in this area, we can better inform our members while also contributing to a more professional and future-proof sector,” says Marijn Verschure, General Manager of CAST.

act legal as CAST’s legal partner
As CAST’s legal partner, act legal will have a prominent position within CAST’s network and activities.

“We want to help entrepreneurs affiliated with CAST move forward in a pragmatic way. Commercial partnerships raise many questions: about agreements with suppliers and customers, the structure of the supply chain, and the impact of new legislation and regulations, such as those relating to packaging, sustainability claims and warranty claims.

By thinking along from a practical perspective and applying our legal expertise where necessary, we can help entrepreneurs make well-informed decisions and set out agreements in a clear and workable manner,” says Nicole Kuijer, Partner, Franchise and Commercial Contracts at act legal.

Working together to build a strong industry
Through this partnership, CAST and act legal aim not only to bring legal support closer to businesses, but also to contribute to knowledge sharing and professionalisation across the industry as a whole.

The partnership supports CAST’s development as an industry organisation for suppliers in the footwear, sports and fashion sector. Through its network and position in the market, CAST aims to bring parties together and encourage collaboration on topics that are relevant to the future of the footwear, sports and fashion industry.
