Floris van Bommel accelerates retail strategy with tenth brand store
Floris van Bommel continues to expand its retail network with the opening of a tenth brand store. The new store will open soon at Grote Houtstraat 2A in Haarlem, becoming the brand’s fifth Floris van Bommel store in the Netherlands.
The footwear brand already operates its own stores in Amsterdam (two locations), Eindhoven and Utrecht, complemented by outlet stores at Batavia Stad Lelystad and Designer Outlet Roermond. Internationally, Floris van Bommel remains committed to physical retail, with brand stores in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart, as well as locations in Antwerp and Bruges, Belgium.
The opening in Haarlem fits within a broader growth strategy. A further expansion is planned for the autumn, when Schoenfabriek Wed. J.P. van Bommel bv will take over the Vabotti men’s shoe store on Grote Markt in Breda. The store will continue as a Floris van Bommel brand store, keeping the location within the family. Vabotti was founded by Hein van Bommel and his son Axel van Bommel.
Floris van Bommel now represents the ninth generation of the family business, which traces its origins back to 1734. The eponymous footwear line was launched in 1996 and builds on a centuries-old tradition of luxury men’s and women’s shoes, which Floris continues together with his brothers.
With this expansion, Floris van Bommel underscores the importance of its own retail channels in a market where brand experience, location and direct customer relationships are becoming increasingly important.
