Fred de la Bretoniere and Shabbies Amsterdam bring colour and character to SS27
12 August 2026Recognisable silhouettes, new colour accents and materials that make all the difference. For Spring/Summer 2027, Fred de la Bretoniere and Shabbies Amsterdam build on their own distinctive signatures. Fred opts for refinement and contrast, while Shabbies approaches the season with a lighter, freer and more effortless attitude.
With a history dating back to 1970, Fred de la Bretoniere is an established name in the Dutch footwear industry. Shabbies Amsterdam, founded in 2005 from the same design vision, adds a tougher and more relaxed character to the mix.
For SS27, these two identities come clearly to the fore. Not by turning everything upside down, but by reinterpreting recognisable silhouettes through colour, material and detail.
Fred de la Bretoniere: familiar shapes, new tension
Familiar silhouettes are refined with new materials, rich textures and contemporary proportions. A calm foundation of off-white, sand and warm brown tones is enriched with light blue, silver and warm orange.
Luxurious suedes and refined leathers are alternated with metallic finishes and subtle snake prints. The result is a collection that remains recognisable and wearable, while offering enough newness to stand out on the shop floor.
Shabbies Amsterdam: a freer take on summer
At Shabbies Amsterdam, SS27 becomes lighter, more playful and more relaxed. Sand, taupe and cognac are complemented by fresh shades such as pale yellow, soft green and weathered orange.
Supple suede, natural textures and soft constructions reinforce the relaxed look and feel. Loafers, feminine heels and casual styles gain extra character through slouchy volumes and details such as studs, perforations, fringing and woven leather.
Colour as a commercial trigger
Colour is the connecting factor across both collections. Fred explores the contrast between refinement and striking accents, while Shabbies opts for natural tones with a sunny, weathered twist.
For buyers, this creates a strong balance between recognisable styles and new colours, textures and details that bring a sense of freshness to the shop floor.
