NEW AT CAST | Marc O'Polo
20 July 2026The renowned fashion brand Marc O'Polo has appointed an official Benelux agent for its footwear collection: Smartdeal, represented by Raymond Wiegerinck. As of 1 July, the new showroom is open at CAST.
BENELUX
Marc O'Polo footwear has long been available through fashion retailers and the brand's own stores. However, as the footwear collection has grown significantly, the company decided to appoint an agent to further expand its presence within the Benelux footwear retail market.
"The brand has already been very successful in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, where it continues to grow rapidly," says Raymond Wiegerinck. "I've been working in the footwear industry since I was 20 years old and have helped build several premium footwear brands in the Dutch market. That experience enables me to successfully position a high-quality brand like Marc O'Polo. It was a great match when they were looking for an agent for the Benelux."
MARC O'POLO
Founded in Stockholm in 1967, Scandinavian brand Marc O'Polo is renowned for its premium contemporary casual fashion with a strong commitment to sustainability. Today, the brand is represented by 2,189 stores and retail partners in 46 countries worldwide, including 111 own stores and flagship locations.
From the very beginning, the founders' philosophy has been to create timeless, sustainable casual wear made from natural materials—designed to make people feel comfortable while expressing themselves. This philosophy is reflected in the brand's slogan: "The Freedom to Be Yourself."
"That same philosophy extends to the footwear collection," explains Wiegerinck. "Marc O'Polo offers a comprehensive range of casual sneakers, loafers, sandals, ballet flats and ankle boots. The collection consists of approximately 65% women's footwear and 35% men's footwear, appealing to a broad target audience, primarily consumers aged 30 and above."
SUSTAINABILITY
Just like its apparel collections, sustainability is what sets Marc O'Polo footwear apart. "This is truly one of the brand's greatest strengths," says Wiegerinck.
Marc O'Polo uses Leather Working Group (LWG) certified leather and incorporates recycled materials wherever possible, including in the soles. While this means Marc O'Polo is not positioned as the lowest-priced footwear supplier, it is a brand that takes its environmental and social responsibility seriously—a value that resonates with an increasing number of consumers.
