New marketing director for Sport 2000

The retail group Sport 2000 has appointed Maria Sarter as its new Marketing Director. In this role, Sarter will lead the marketing team, the company — part of the ANWR Group — announced on Monday. Her responsibilities include overseeing the sports retail brands Sport 2000, Absolute Run, and Absolute Teamsport, coordinating trademarketing activities across various divisions, and managing and further developing partnerships with brand collaborators.

Together with her team, the thirty-three-year-old will continue to shape the group’s central marketing strategy. The group operates in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

“Maria Sarter brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Her strong strategic mindset, solid marketing background, and clear leadership qualities are particularly noteworthy,” said Margit Gosau, CEO of Sport 2000. “With her appointment, we also enrich our senior management team with a female voice and a fresh, young perspective.”

Sarter’s promotion comes from within the organization. Since November 2024, she has served as Senior Brand Marketing Manager at Sport 2000. Before joining the company, she worked as a Project Manager at the agency Pioneers, focusing on retail and event management.
