About Spikes & Sparrow
Their story began with the mission to create bags (and accessories) that are different. Bags that strengthen the character and individuality of their owner. Bags that last. And that, just like them, are independent and free.

Designed in the Netherlands. With their own style. With an international and timeless appeal. Bags that become just as unique as their owners over time.

They believe that a bag should show what it is made of. Their bags are made from high-quality leather. By this, they mean a natural material with character. Leather that, in most cases, changes as the bag is used.

Bags with character
Spikes & Sparrow believes that a bag should show what it is made of. Their bags are made from high-quality leather. By this, they mean a natural material with character. Leather that, in most cases, changes due to the way the bag is used.

The leather will shine in places where it rubs against the body. The leather will develop creases depending on what is carried inside, and daily life will leave its marks. Stains may appear if coffee is spilled on it or if the bag accidentally bumps against a wall. Over time, the leather may get scratched or discoloured by sunlight.

Whatever happens to the bag, it will only become more beautiful, more personal and more alive. Just as unique as the owner.

Fair production
The bags are Dutch design and are handmade in India. Spikes & Sparrow only works with factories they know and trust. Factories that do not use child labour, do not force workers to work overtime, create a clean working environment and pay normal wages.

These factories use only REACH-compliant chemicals and nickel-free metals. All of their factories are certified according to international standards (such as BSCI or SA8000), or are in the process of obtaining such certification.

Quality
Spikes & Sparrow wants their bags to reflect the personality of the owner. The bags can only do that after spending time with their owner. That is why their products need to last a long time.

That is why they pay close attention to production details, such as the way they stitch the lining so it will not break. Or how they attach the handles so they will not tear, regardless of what the owner decides to carry in the bag.

That is why they only use the best zips and the strongest metal parts. Spikes & Sparrow continues to regularly test their leather and metal parts and is constantly working on improvements.
